Been a long time, I've taken this ride;

I've lived quite a while and learned quite a bit,

About life and this world where we live.

It's filled with both good and bad in it,

Some people take, while some others give.

There's a balance to life in the way it unfolds,

It’s a truth that we all come to know.

There'll be times with unbearable days,

And sleepless nights filled with anger and woe.

Spend time on the quest for ourselves,

Searching for that internal peace.

On each of our paths, we may misstep and fall-

But our need for the answers shouldn’t cease.

Our beliefs grow from what we've been taught.

Our dreams nurture by the things we see-

And our morals from the fights we have fought.

Feelings of sadness, grief, joy, and pain,

Life is a journey of multi-paced.

But the moment we learn to constrain,

You feel all of your pain's been erased.

World won't stop spinning, the sun will still rise,

There will always be conflict and strife.

But by accepting we're all just human-

We can make this a much better life.

Yes, I've learned quite a lot in my 21 years,

Yet more to learn beyond what I see.

To embrace and respect everyone as they’re,

And hope the same they'll do for me.
